Emer and Shane’s Wedding. St Joseph’s Church and Radisson Blu Hotel, Sligo.

Taking a break from Leicestershire wedding photography, I had another Irish Wedding Photography commission on July 16th which took me to the pleasant town of Sligo to photograph Emer & Shane’s wedding.  The ceremony took place at the very modern St Joseph’s Church in the town and was attended by around 300 guests.  After the ceremony, the couple elected to go to Rosses Point, a local beauty spot close by on the beautiful Sligo coast.  It was a warm, sunny and very blustery day, as can be  seen from the images below.  We had a lot of fun with Emer’s fantastic wedding dress flying in the stiff breeze.  A bride who was up for creative images, Emer was a dream to photograph!

After some time on the dunes above the beach, we went on to the very old ruins of  Sligo Abbey for more photographs.  The Abbey is very dramatic and atmospheric and the light coming through the old cloisters was wonderful.  It was a haven of tranquility after the windswept mayhem on the dunes!

Emer & Shane’s reception followed at the Radisson Blu Hotel, just outside Sligo.  A wonderful day and a great example of why I enjoy photographing weddings in Ireland so much, you were fantastic, guys!
